Denel Integrated Systems and Maritime (ISM) - is building from its existing strengths of System Integration and Support for complex engineering projects, as required by the Ground Based Air Defence (GBADS) project for the SA Army. Denel ISM is taking on other related complex systems of Command and Control for the SANDF as required by the South African Defence Review (2014).
The same review also calls for Denel to establish a Maritime capability in support of maritime technologies and logistics support required by the SA Navy. An increasing role is expected on the SA Navy in terms of the objectives articulated within Operation Phakisa, the ISPS Code, the African Union AIMS-2050 Strategy, the African Transport Charter and the Regional Maritime Security Strategy.
Denel as the custodian of South Africa's sovereign defence technologies is responsible for Command and Control in technologies in the air, land, maritime and joint forces domain. Command and Control solutions will also be aimed at establishing Denel ISM as the Trusted Sovereign Technology Partner to the National Security environment, as required in Integrated Border Control Solutions, Security Agencies, Police and Disaster Management environments.
Denel ISM will expand its capabilities, with local and international partners, in the areas of Electronic Warfare, Secure Communications, Cyber Security Solutions and bespoke Maritime Security Solutions.
